Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have been a Modest Mouse fan for quite some time now.
I'm not sure if anyone got any info on this because I havent found much anywhere on the web but I've got two old Modest Mouse posters (I dont think that they were specifically tour posters due to the fact that there are no dates on them - They just have the address to order a catalog from Subpop/UP Records) but they are however from the This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About era. Perhaps they were promotional posters for the album itself.
The posters (I have two, which are identical except that one is printed in blueish ink, the other in charcoal grey/faded black ink) are printed on 4-fold newsprint paper and have the imagery of the clouds and the bridge from This Is A Long Drive (Not the artwork on the front of the amlbum but it IS Long Drive art work) and below the image they say 'THIS IS A LONG DRIVE FOR SOMEONE WITH NOTHING TO THINK ABOUT' along with an address for you to order a Subpop/UP Records catalog. These things are over a decade old, obviously, since they were printed at the time of This Is A Long Drive's debut.
I saw one on eBay about a week ago for $200 'Buy It Now'. No auction, and no offers. Other than that i really cant find this poster anywhere and was just wondering if anyone had some knowledge on it/knew what its current worth was. $200 for a piece of newspaper seems pretty ridiculous to me (However, I have no room to talk considering that I've probably spent over a grand on my Modest Mouse vinyl discography) but as we all know, Modest Mouse memorabilia has got value and it just continues to rise.
So, if anyone got ANY knowledge on these posters, please get in touch with me as I am very curious and would lik eto know a little bit more. If you want pictures I can email them to you. thanks for looking and I cant wait to shoot the shit with you guys!
