This is the best album to cry to ever. I love every song. It is a perfect masterpiece.
i really love the lyrics in baby blue sedan, i always listen to this song when im feeling down
"And it's hard to be a human being
And it's harder as anything else
And I'm lonesome when you're around
And I'm never lonesome when I'm by myself"
i also love a life of arctic sounds and neverending math equation, i think those three songs stand out to me the most, but i like most of the other songs too:)
Broken promise cause my car broke down such a classic excuse it should be bronze by now.
Two of my favorite songs on this album are Other People's Lives, and their cover of the melody of sleepwalk called Sleepwalking. Very awesome songs. Well written and very catchy!
700 miles is a long drive insideacar...
That album makes me happy.
neverending math equations FTW.
i like how it's the kind of album that you can either leave in the background when you hang out, or blast and just listen to, and it never bores you or distracts you, it just IS.
i'm on a road shaped like a figure 8. its going nowhere but i'm guaranteed to be late. i love it how his lyrics do that contradicting thing. I dont know what you call it. but its amazing.
I'm stuck between Broke and Interstate 8. Both those songs are amazing. This is also my near favorite album of theirs, of course I find myself saying that about all of them. Haha.
with cowboy dan. Grey Ice Water is my favorite from the album. And i love the that girl sings. It really adds to the amazingness. Isaac should really have her do some more singing on a few tracks. Atleast 1 or 2
this album is what i would want with me if i was walking through the desert.
Every song on this CD is amazing. Arctic Sounds and Grey Ice Water are my absolute favorites, with All Night Diner close behind.
Also am I the only one who loves the way Nicole Johnson (the chick laying down the background vocals in Grey Ice Water, Interstate 8 and Sleepwalking) grooves Grey Ice Water along? Her voice really complements Brock's and adds a nice rhythm.
Every single song off this Album are favorites,
and whenever i am feeling depressed i listen through this album and feel better.
And also Isaac Brock is a badass. Just thought i should put that out there.
Modest Mouse is one of my two favorite bands, and it all started with this album. My brother introduced them to me when I was in 6th grade and I remember liking them but I didn't fully appreciate them until a few years ago probably because I needed to mature a bit but its been awesome finding more of their music. I listen to this album over and over along with other Modest Mouse songs, there will be stretches of time where all I do is listen to Modest Mouse and its great everytime. They have helped me thru some of the rougher times in my life which is cool and they've also made the better times even better. I love pretty much every song on this album especially Workin on Leavin' the Livin'
"Workin' on Livin', I'm Workin' on Leavin', I'm workin on leavin the livin. Loved you more than everything, loved you more than anything loved everything more than anything. Workin on drinkin, I'm workin on drivin, I'm workin on drivin my dreams. Workin on livin', Workin' on leavin', I'm workin on leavin' the livin'."
I love that. A Life of Arctic Sounds is another one of my favorites especially when Im driving hah, Baby Blue Sedan and Grey Ice Water are a couple I listen to quite a bit. This is definitely my favorite Modest Mouse album, and I can't wait to see them in concert someday.
