New Music?
I'm a big MM fan and I'm looking for some new music...I really like this band Wonderlick that just put out a new album - it's kind of indie alternative with a pop punkish flare (real pop punk, not like Fall Out Boy or one of those bands) - anyone else like them? suggestions?

This thread is about new music, but every single 'Alt Rock' album out today comes from that. It is the first 'alternative rock' album and to me is still considered 'new'. Give Robert Zimmerman another dollar and buy it.
Then again, Modest Mouse has a serious backlog of albums. Don't forget to buy 'The Fruit Who Ate Itself' and anything else this band has released. Of course if you don't have $80 to buy Interstate 8 then wait, but don't wait until they release more music until you get it all. They have a serious catalog.
I cannot wait until new Modest Mouse music comes out! C'mon Isaac, bring it on!
My favorites who aren't Modest Mouse are Ween and Mercury Rev. Pretty mainstream if you think longevity and no radio play are mainstream. Both bands I get, much like I get Modest Mouse who totally pissed me off at how much I love their music.
Otherwise, and on these forums I always I assume I'm talking to people much younger than me. There are The Doors, Pink Floyd. The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. Start digging in those directions and if you've never heard it then it is new.

Dinosaur Jr.'s new album Farm is great too, since you're into pop-punk.
I discovered this new band called Phoenix. Their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is brilliant. Check that out.
Nearly all of my favourite bands started their careers in my ear canals as recommendations - So thanks Album Junkie - I'll go check out wonderlick - I'd recommend anything by the Silversun Pickups.
