Please come to Norfolk, Virginia, some time during late December or early January, or towards the end of May ... or some time when I will not be in college, as I go to Virginia Tech.
When you guys came about 2 years ago, I was in my Senior year of high school. I had my ticket for the show. And then something happened and I had to sell it, so I never got to see you. I still get upset about it to this day, 2 years later. It really frustrates me more than anything else I come across.
I have been a fan of you/Modest Mouse since I was about 13, about 7 years now. Modest Mouse is hands down my favorite band and always will be. I had heard the full version Gravity Rides Everything (not the commercial) quite a while back and never knew who sung it. Then I heard Ocean Breathes Salty a year or so later and fell in love. Since then, I have everything by Modest Mouse and love it all.
I don't have actually have a "favorite album" however... I love all of it, Good News, Lonesome Crowded West, Building Nothing Out of Something, Moon & Antarctica (I'm gonna buy the re-release as well), etc. I love it all.
My all-time favorite song however is Broke. For some reason, I just love the catchy wordplay of the song, even with the repetitiveness of it. It is just a great song and it is amazing as it was the band's first single. It is just a song that sticks with me.
And it turns out that the show I missed, you guys played Broke. And I missed my favorite song...
I would give almost anything, whatever I could, to see you guys play live, and especially to see you play Broke, definitely...
