Orly?
so i'm perusing my local record store.
and i see a copy of M&A with a different cover than mine.
what's more
it offers 4 new tracks.
and i couldn't find LCW.
so i bought this.
OMFUG, i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE custom concern.
and the extra BBC version of tiny BLOWS my mind.
also, i change my mind about favorite songs.
wild packs of family dogs is my new favorite. maybe out of the entire catalog. like, all time.

I have to say that This is long drive and M/A are two of my favorite albums..but how can you honestly weigh the two against eachother. They're both so different and unique in their own way..ya know?
..the nostalgia that the two give me are from two completely different times, so it's really hard to compare them!
But I do have to say I favor the BBC version in it's own right..I mean its a different interpretation of its entirety..the perfect disguise I loooove his hazy, perfect nightmare voice!!!
..Need me to fall down so you can climb up...(classic)
can still flow the rest of the song. Think of it as a whole.
"like a bad tempered prom queen at a homecoming dance" That ones just as shitty. But as a whole, the line fits in with what came before, and what comes after.
"far away from the milky teet" is kind of stretching.
Because i dont think any of his lyrics suck. They are all cool. I havent heard any lyrics that were poorly written.
i may have misspoke- my POINT was that the instrumental was better.
Custom Concerns lyrics are amazing.
"I get up, just about noon. My head sends a message for me to reach for my shoes, and then walk. Gotta go to work, gotta go to work, gotta have a job."
I love that part. You just crazy. Even though the instrumental is maybe even better
yeah but custom concern's lyrics suck.
*gonk*
anyway, yeah, i don't know why a radio version was included- i wanna hear all of the profanity intact when i pay for a CD.
the next remastered version of a CD should have profanity, just alone, for 30 seconds at the end of a track. like, isaac just taps the mic and starts going
"f***. shit. c***. wiener. boob. douchebag."
The moon and antarctica verision of custom concern has no vocals. Its the instrumental version...
lolol. And i dont like the third planet version because they bleep out the words.
owning both, i ran them side by side on my mom's and my computers.
the differences are weak, but evident, if you look at a graphic equalizer you'll see that in thew original 'wild pack of family dogs' there was a noise in the background that the ear can't pick up, a high-pitched sound that starts at 0:51 and goes about a second and a half- it doesn't occur on the new version, it was mixed out. small differences like this are evident in all of the tracks, i only went into such depths on this one to make an example.
*sips pink lemonade*
i liked the purple- it caught my eye. this is a similar color to 'the open door E.P.' so on my shelf they don't stand out and even though i KNOW (due to the orange/blueprint blue portions of each, and by virtue of my ability to read) it still pisses me off for some reason. i like my album shelves to be all kinds of colored, it's a good thing M and D are in different spots. the case to my purple one is slightly cracked, however, so this one is... why does it matter, again? it's the music that counts.
i don't like the radio edit of third planet because even though i play it too loud to hear myself singing to it, it messes me up when i swear and my radio is more polite. the M&A version of custom concern is cool, and having not looked at the lyrics before listening (i already KNEW them) it blew my mind that it was on there, and brought me back to 96.
honestly, i think it's cooler to have the original- it's a lot like saying, hey- i bought this back before they were cool.
they were always cool.
more bass. The songs were recorded and the quality sounds better too. Some of them are shorter, some faster. I can notice a big difference.
What Tahoes said. I do enjoy the live BBC versions a bit more, especially Tiny Cities, but I have a quick question. Compared to the older one (purple one), do the songs sound different? Cause it says that it was "remixed", but I'm not sure if that means the songs sound any different.
is the new 'official' version. Its the only one stores like best buy and target sell. The original one (with the purple) isaac supposedly didnt like the color. So he changed it and added some cool remixes. Pretty sure they dont even make the original anymore.
